Genius! So the addicts can buy & smoke more to get their fix. What a wonderfully profitable solution. I wonder who bribed whom, the AMA or RJR?

- jka 4y agoQuoting[1] the FDA: "Lowering nicotine in cigarettes to a minimally or non-addictive level through the creation of a potential nicotine product standard could decrease the chances that future generations become addicted to cigarettes, and could make it easier for more currently addicted smokers to quit." - chiefalchemist 4y agoThis doesn't work. Smokers will simply smoke more. Reducing the single cigarette payload only means an increase in intake. Their theory could be easily tested. There's no mention of such a study. Nuff said.
- tunap 4y agoYep, it's about revenue generation. At $8 to $10 a pack... think of the children!
- chiefalchemist 4y agoThe same entity that gets to approve the addictive carcinogen, also gets to derive revenue (i.e., tax) from it. Hard to believe (rolls eyes).
