Mosquitos were already showing resistance to DDT by the early 60's.
- joecool1029 4y agoIt's rather frustrating that the same gene conferring DDT resistance also confers it to commonly used pyrethroid pesticides: https://genomebiology.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/gb-2014-15-2-r27 https://genomebiology.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/gb-... We need better targeted control methods. It's my fear that the same people that fought pesticide control will also fight genetically modified control methods.
