My first task at my current job I had to port our local dev environment to M1, out of necessity. Docker was relatively straightforward but I ran into a hell of sorts trying to get deps to compile on my aarch64 container, especially for stale projects like leveldb and eleveldb. In short it was painful but once you get over the attrition of compiling (mainly C) deps it's smooth sailing from there on out.
