AT&T fiber hits 20 Gbps with 'Hyber-Gig' network test
- Stratoscope 4y ago9to5Mac needs a proofreader. It's "Hyper-Gig" as shown in the screenshot of the AT&T ad in the article. "Hyber-Gig" doesn't even make sense.
- phren0logy 4y agoI have no real use for these speeds, but I want it anyway.
- jrnichols 4y agothis is the dilemma we have as well. We don't even come close to saturating the 1gig package we have now. :) But getting 5 gig speeds? sure! home networking hardware is the bottleneck now, really.
- allears 4y agoDoesn't really matter what AT&T does in their labs. Until they deploy fiber throughout their network, you'll still be limping along at copper speeds.
- jrnichols 4y agoYou won't be limping along at copper speeds anywhere they've deployed their fiber product, which is still expanding. https://www.att.com/internet/fiber/coverage-map/ https://www.att.com/internet/fiber/coverage-map/ We've had it in 2 different states now for several years and it's been a fantastic product.
- throwaway81523 4y agoIt's still only copper where I am, and my ADSL bill subsidizes the deployment of fiber to richer neighborhoods than mine. :(
- wjamesg 4y agoI’m very happy with mine (Raleigh, NC area)
