I've started cataloging all the terminal mail clients in a list: https://erock.lists.sh/terminal-mail-clients https://erock.lists.sh/terminal-mail-clients
Happy to add others if people know of some that I've missed.

- jolmg 4y agoThanks for recommending mblaze. Nearly all terminal mail clients use a TUI. It's nice to see a client besides nmh that uses a CLI instead. > Happy to add others if people know of some that I've missed. Here are a couple of lists with clients you're missing: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/List_of_applications#Email_clients https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/List_of_applications#Email_... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_email_clients https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_email_clients

- petre 4y agoI just installed isync today and synched all my mail from 2012 up to now using msync. It was quite fast compared to getmail and it mirrors the maildir hierarchy on the imap server.
- opk 4y agoI migrated to mblaze after many years with MH and nmh, mostly because the Maildir backend allowed me to serve mail out as IMAP to have access from a mobile. Some things it does much better like threading but I still use parts of nmh where it's better.

- j22jfineman 4y agoHow about Claws Mail. <https://www.claws-mail.org/ https://www.claws-mail.org/>
- enriquto 4y ago> It really emphasizes the unix philosophy (...) Hmmmm... The real unix philosophy-consistent mail client would be a filesystem that you mount. To send a mail you copy a file to the folder mail/send, to view your mail you ls mail/inbox, etc. You can browse your mail archive by date or by other criteria by accessing the appropriate directories.
