I’m a Software Engineer. I joined the gopher slack (community for Golang developers) and monitored the #jobs channel. A post called my attention, chatted with the poster who happened to be the hiring manager, and a few weeks later I had the job. Quite a few devs communities have such channels and what I appreciate about slack is the ability to start a quick chat with the poster in an informal way, get a referral and overall skip the whole ATS resume black hole.
