What's your take on mutt versus neomutt?

- leephillips 4y agoNeomutt is a fork of Mutt that adds some features. Some of these features are available as Mutt enhancements, and some have been added to Mutt since the fork. I have no interest in these particular features, so I’ve never used Neomutt. One comment on my LWN article claimed that Neomutt was increasingly buggy. I don’t know if that’s (still) true, but original Mutt has been rock-solid for me. Correctness and stability are crucial in an email client.
- minusf 4y agowhile mutt i think never crashed on me, it's imap implementation was far from pleasant to use. i do not know how much of that might have been because of server side, but in the end i moved on to mbsync instead of using the built-in imap syncing. now mutt is a top notch ui over a local maildir.
