Finally someone else trying to fix regex syntax approaches it from the same angle as mine[1]: a portable syntax that transpiles to plain old regex to get bug-for-bug compatibility but a nicer syntax.
Instinctively, I think the syntax didn't go far enough and could be made more readable (of course I'd feel that way!), but the implementation and marketing has me beaten! Kudos!
