I hate working with wood, you can't weld it. I really like this article though, and relate completely. I do metalworking and fabrication (building race cars) as a side hobby because having a tactile, physical thing to tinker with helps cool off from the daily software work.

I suppose the closest you can get to welding with wood is epoxy (or glue) and clamps and waiting for it to cure?
