I haven't had issues like that, but usually it's Xcode doing the "use all cores" thing so I suspect they're properly assigning QoS. I did find that if I switch power on my desk fan _and_ my USB-C hub is plugged in there's a ~10% chance of a kernel-panic and reboot.
