He wrote: "All professional investors know [that qualities like determination and intelligence have orders of magnitude more effect on founders' overall outcomes than their parents' wealth]. Given a choice between growing a network of founders who are smart and driven, and building a network of founders who grew up rich, all professional investors would take the former."
- jstx1 4y agoThe sample of people that investors are exposed to is already skewed in the way OP is describing though. Also, of course they’ll say that it’s about determination and intelligence - that might be true but they would say it even if it wasn’t.
