They can say what they want. What is realistic is that Qualcomm is ahead of any Intel and AMD offerings by using Cortex-X2, they just have to go ahead and build that SoC.
Cortex-X2 is currently 1 year ahead of Intel/AMD, however Apple is 3 years ahead of Cortex-X2.
