But it's still really sad to see. I use it because it was trivial to CSS style it to match my Desktop. It's comfortable to me in a way that other editors thus far have not been.
Are there other editors with this level of customizability? I know VSCode and Sublime support theming but from what I can tell it involves installing pre-packaged themes.
- piefayth 4y agoWell, if you just want a custom VSCode theme, you can try Theme Studio for VSCode: https://themes.vscode.one/ https://themes.vscode.one/. Login/signup required, though. No affiliation.
- aordano 4y agothere is an extension that lets you set arbitrary css in VSCode, albeit it's a bit cumbersome to use. https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=be5invis.vscode-custom-css https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=be5invis...

- rgoulter 4y agoIf level of customizability is your main metric: Emacs can go from this: https://emacshints.files.wordpress.com/2013/09/spash1.png https://emacshints.files.wordpress.com/2013/09/spash1.png to this: https://github.com/rougier/nano-emacs https://github.com/rougier/nano-emacs
- whiskey14 4y ago+1 for nano-emacs
- brundolf 4y agoYou can do a lot of customization in VSCode. Not as much as Atom, but way more than the average editor. I'm not positive whether or not it would be enough to serve your case
- wiseowise 4y agoVSCode killed Atom long before GitHub acquisition.
- WorldMaker 4y agoYou can override any color you want in VS Code with a couple easy settings in your settings.json file: workbench.colorCustomizations and editor.tokenColorCustomizations https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/getstarted/themes#_customizing-a-color-theme https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/getstarted/themes#_custom... You have to package it if you want to make it easy for other people to install, but if you just want to play with it, just open settings.json and start feeding it colors.
- jw14 4y agoI've made extensive use of this and it is a killer feature of VS code for me. Still, I wish it supported all of CSS like Atom did.
