UK not to copy EU demand for common charging cable
- basisword 4y agoThis kind of implies what the UK wants actually matters. If the entire EU requires a common charging cable, companies will be forced into it and UK consumers will reap the benefit regardless of the UK regulations. The UK isn't going to get some extra investment because they don't implement this. Not to mention, it will be implemented to some extent in part of the UK (Northern Ireland) due to the agreement in place with the EU.
- rjmunro 4y agoIf Apple decides to make EU phones with USB-C and non-EU phones with the old non-standard connector e.g. for the US and China markets, they could sell them in the UK. So it's not really a case of what the UK wants.
