Why? I'm hard pressed to see practical benefits over contactless card/phone/smartwatch payments for small sums. Yes, they work already internationally - at least with some definition of international.
- toast0 4y agoPer swipe fees get icky for small purchases. Something else could work better (or the fees could be reduced) Of course, that something doesn't look like today's cybercurrency either.
- latchkey 4y agoThere are L2 chains that are less than a cent per transaction.
- rowanG077 4y agoFor one you wouldn't have to deal with credit card companies who are massive cludges for society.
- latchkey 4y agoI personally don't like the idea that I'm selling all of my personal financial data to the highest bidder, who I don't know, nor do I benefit from. That might not be something that bothers you, but it bothers me.
