I'm not sure if there was a communication error somewhere in the process, but you'd think that if the cops ask the airline for a passenger list for an investigation and the airline responded with just 1 name, that they'd confirm that just 1 passenger was on the flight or the reasons why the airline is just providing 1 name. How many flights take off with just 1 person? To me it seems odd that the error wasn't caught there. And being in jail for 17 days without being informed of the charges or being brought in front of a judge seems crazy. Can Michael not sue the police force as well?
- version_five 4y agoSomething doesn't add up. If this happened as presented, the police would have been actively violating the law. It mentioned covid quarantine i think, I wouldn't be surprised of the police / prisons were illegally detaining people in the name of covid and not giving them due process until they were out of quarantine.
- more_corn 4y agoHe’ll probably sue the police too (and win). What a nightmare.
- fortran77 4y agoHe won't win against the Police. That's why he (via his lawyer) is going after the airline. Of course, he should have had a lawyer when he was first arrested.
- phendrenad2 4y agoNot everyone can afford a lawyer, and if you're thrown in a holding pen for 17 days and never officially charged with a crime, I don't think you get a public defender.
