New Google FCC filing suggests that cheaper Chromecast is on the way

- rektide 4y agoReleasing a non-802.11ax/wifi6 device is gross. Can someone clarify? It means one of two bad things. Either: A) no other device can communicate with your AP while this device is chatting, or B) only wifi6 devices can chat while this device is communicating. I'm not sure which, but either way, releasing a device lacking basic ability to keep spectrum shared & usable is pretty frustrating. I guess 802.11ax was only finalized 2020, so it's not _that_ established, but holy heck, like 802.11ac, there were so many pre-draft implementations that ported fine to the final spec. It's brutal thinking of adding more oldschool devices that sacrifice & sap our AP's & spectrum. Can't we have some decency?
