Refusing will either get you the job plus some respect for having some boundaries, or will result in them immediately dropping you from consideration because they have deemed this additional testing to be essential to the process.
Side note, if this company can’t pick someone after after interviewing candidates 4x, it seems to me they don’t really understand what they want / fungible requirements are endemic to their culture. That may or may not be a desirable feature in this potential employer.
- notahacker 4y agoHow many people get "the job plus some respect" for saying they're not prepared to finish the interview process? Only situation I can possibly imagine that being the case is high powered executive being headhunted from a rival (or if its a "happy to have a further call to discuss the offer we made, or for you to come in and meet the team before you make your mind up" situation) not a dev being set additional coding challenges because someone somewhere in the process isn't quite sure about their relevant skill level [relative to another candidate] yet.
- CodeWriter23 4y agoI think a properly framed response that politely conveys its bullshit and I don’t do bullshit could result in the hiring. But I think you miss my point (because I did not elaborate enough), being true to oneself is what lands you in a place where you are happy.
