Oh this was not meant to be a criticism of that article. They do a good job of getting a nice color distribution - mostly by ignoring/working around that "only brand colors" requirement they mention at the start. Which goes to show both that it is possible to find nice colors that fit in, and that you get better results when relaxing the brand color requirement.
