- KMag 4y agoSee DEC's FX!32 (running x86 WinNT 3.51 binaries on WinNT 3.51 workstations with Alpha AXP CPUs) and HP's Project Dynamo. There are probably even earlier examples, but FX!32 was roughly equivalent to Rosetta, and shipping production code in the 1990s.
- _kbh_ 4y agoIsn't Rosetta 2 the opposite of libhoundini? (translating from x86 to ARM, instead of ARM to x86), I also fail to see how an application that has its roots in a PPC to x86 translator (Rosetta 1) from 2006, is somehow a rip off of an application from around 5 years ago. If anything libhoudini is a rip off of Rosetta.
