- CraftThatBlock 4y agoGames on Proton (WINE) on Linux on Rosetta on macOS?
- viraptor 4y agoIf it's stupid and it works, it's not stupid :-)
- weberer 4y agoYou would need Apple to support Vulkan in their GPU drivers first.
- CraftThatBlock 4y agoUsing MoltenV maybe, similarly to vkd3d?
- xrisk 4y agoWouldn’t people working on Asahi right now write their own GPU drivers?
- ekianjo 4y agoDepends however on what the 3D acceleration supports in terms of features.
- 58028641 4y agoI'm hoping Alyssa Rosenzweig and Hector Martin's work will allow Linux to access the GPU directly.
- cassianoleal 4y agoCan you run Win32/Win64 binaries on ARM WINE / Proton?
- ThatPlayer 4y agoBox86/box64 lets you run Linux x86 Steam running x86 Proton. I'm not sure about ARM Proton. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuRZGf7Jqxg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuRZGf7Jqxg
- jordemort 4y agoI was under the impression that Box86 would not work on the M1 because it wants to run in 32 bit mode, and Apple did not implement 32 bit mode on their processors.
- pantalaimon 4y agoYes, with FEX-Emu
- 58028641 4y agoRosetta on Linux is also an option.
- ccrush 4y agoI would like to see Hackintosh continue to flourish on x86 chips, but I may be asking for a lot here.
- physicsguy 4y agoA large issue with this will be that Rosetta doesn't support AVX, AVX2 extensions, which are increasingly commonly used in games. https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/0/2976275080122627668/ https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/0/2976275080122...
