In my experience as a SRE, most teams/companies claiming above three nines are not measuring correctly or lying.
- harpratap 4y agoDepends a lot on scale too. 3 nines while serving 1M RPS is quite a different challenge from 3 nines at 1 RPS
- pojzon 4y agoMy previous company SLA was for 99.999% uptime which was built on top of a service with 99.9% uptime without anything additional in between. SLAs in most cases are bullshit and if anything really bad happens (Atlassian) they are just prepared to pay out class lawsuit.
