We've had telephones and group calls since before we had computers, and there is a reason why we shifted to text.
Plus the platform is inherently not accessibility friendly.
It just makes no sense overall, but I can see why it was quick burning fad.
- throwaway290 4y agoOn the contrary, voice is too high resolution. Live and interactive, with no video to distract, makes it immediately obvious when someone is bullshitting you, compared to text (especially 140char limited) or pre-recorded videos/podcasts. The only thing clubhouse would be worth for is improv comedy, but there are not enough good troupes.
- krnlpnc 4y agoOn the other hand voice is half duplex, transfers data slowly and doesn’t retransmit lost fragments. Agree to disagree I guess.
