People keep stating that he can buy a $1B get out of jail card but AFAIK that's not true. He can only pay the breakup fee if he has financing concerns and/or regulatory reasons for not being able to close the deal. [0]

- sushid 4y agoBeing unable to finance and unwilling are two different things although I'm sure Elon can try that.
- zie 4y agoAgreed, but if it ever gets to court, the presentation of the facts also matter. Hopefully the two groups bickering will come to some sort of agreement and save the many millions of lawyer fees, but who knows.
