Young people will first have to demonstrate that they are capable of going to the polls for anything. Democracy is a civic duty, it's not some customer support department. "2/5, wasn't friendly, will not go to the polls again"
- trasz 4y agoWhy would they waste their time on something that's, as been found time and time again, simply doesn't work? US policy is shaped by lobby groups, not voter's beliefs.
- willcipriano 4y agoThat'll show em! You guys just need to have a few more disastrous election losses on they will come back begging to vote for the leaderships preferred candidate.
- shadowgovt 4y agoN'ah. A few more disastrous election losses and they won't have to vote anymore at all.
- willcipriano 4y agoIf your thesis is correct we shall see in a few months.
- shadowgovt 4y agoLooking at past historical trends, I'd give it about 8 years. https://libraries.wm.edu/exhibits/irrepressible-conflict-or-blundering-generation-coming-civil-war https://libraries.wm.edu/exhibits/irrepressible-conflict-or-...
- themacguffinman 4y agoIf young people don't go to the polls, they are a non-factor in election wins & losses. Eventually they'll figure that out when politicians continue to spend their tax dollars serving the interests of the people who vote, not the people who whine. But sure, continue snarkily throwing away your vote, continue whining about disastrous elections. Who cares if you have to live in the society you threw away your vote in, as long as those snooty leadership preferred candidates suffer it's all worth it.
