It also coincided a huge increase in bit/altcoin prices, which made pump/dump schemes profitable (especially early NFT). Politics also bloomed in Sept-Dec 2020 when BLM wanted somewhere to motivate as did those across the spectrum of "suppressed voices" after Jan 6.
