I'm not from the US and I know that road trips are part of the US culture but I'm not sure that they are the first use case of a car. Electric cars are designed and are suitable for everyday trips. If you are buying an EV mainly to do road trips, you are probably stupid. You are using the wrong tool for the job. If you really want to do road trips, well... you'd still better buy an EV... and use the money you spared by not buying oil all year long to rent a nice road car.
