People need to slow down on car trips. You will enjoy it a lot more if you are driving less than 300 miles a day, which puts it into the range of most electric cars.
If you can't do that, just fly.
- mwint 4y agoFlying is often slower than speed-optimized road trips for medium drives, once you factor in all the extra time spent not in the air: Logistics to & from airport, security, buffer time so you don't miss flights, possibly renting a car at the destination.
- gpapilion 4y agoAround 500 miles; basically Sf to la. That trip is 2.5-3 hours by plane in the best case, and can tick up to 5-6 easily. You also have to figure in rental car etc. That said I’ve spent 10+ hours going from sf to la in a car.
- marssaxman 4y agoDifferent people like different things. I would almost always rather drive than fly. 300 miles is just getting started! My limit for a day is more like 750... I have frequently chosen to drive from Seattle to Sacramento, when visiting family in CA, rather than going through all the rigmarole and discomfort of a plane trip. Flying is worse for the environment, anyway, since there will be no electric jets in the foreseeable future.
