I haven’t studied the issue so my opinion doesn’t matter. It seems to me that there will need to be far fewer people in the future in order to have a planet worth living on. I think all policies not designed to ensure this outcome will fail. So for me policy doesn’t matter since none of the ones I’ve read about have this as their goal. Mine is a minority opinion. Maybe even and extremist one!
- starkd 4y agoI'd be wary of all or nothing platitudes. Not only is it mentally unhealthy, it's also highly destructive to consider our relationship with the environment an adversarial one. Most of straightline projections are wildly off the mark. We were told we only have ten years left 20 years ago. People are not just cattle. They are also a resource itself. Not just consumers. and remarkable good resources at being able to adapt.
