App will not connect unless I enable location (2021)
- rsync 4y agoJust a friendly reminder that Sonos is a data broker masquerading as a music hardware company. If you have the necessary skills, expertise and equipment I[1] will pay you to reverse engineer any and all of the hardware devices, network protocols and security measures that Sonos uses in their products. I will then publish this in a public repository and pay lawyers to keep it live. This does not help me in any way. It only hurts Sonos. This is the classical definition of a spiteful action and I can't wait to undertake it. [1] You know where to find me.
- kstenerud 4y agoI have no idea how to find you, but there are numerous open source sonos clients such as https://github.com/SoCo/SoCo https://github.com/SoCo/SoCo out there that use the sonos API without requiring location services.
