No more dealer markups: Ford wants to move to online-only sales for EVs
- dtagames 4y agoSo few parts of the on-ground dealership model apply to electric cars, this is the only viable way forward. Stocking, browsing, pricing, last mile distribution, financing, and service are all done for electric cars without having a public physical location. The sunk costs that combustion car manufacturers already have in this model (and its associated supply chains) will prevent any ICE manufacturer from becoming the dominant EV player.
