Another solution is Voice Dream Reader on iOS. I used to think I preferred an Audible audiobook because of the human voice. But when I want to take notes, I find I end up going back to Voice Dream. I even scan physical books to be able to read them in the app. Only for novels do I still prefer a human narrated book, provided there is a version with a really good narrator.
