Files Transferred over Shell Protocol
- LinuxBender 4y agoI am surprised the wiki does not have zmodem in the see also section. On Linux or Mac one can install lrzsz [1] to do file transfers in the shell/terminal. This is handy if file permissions would make ssh/rsync less practical. Some financial orgs may not be happy with lrzsz being used as file transfers may not be logged or restricted. If using tmux or gnu screen one may have to make changes to the RC file for lrzsz to function correctly. - pmoriarty 4y agoThe advantage of FISH over lrzsz is that you don't need to install anything extra on the SSH endpoint. Just ssh and a shell is enough.
- LinuxBender 4y agoGood point. I totally forgot that mc and lftp can use FISH.
