I have probably bought four or five or his sets, and I kind of regret it - I can’t see myself using anything else now! The feeling is like getting your fingertips “hugged”, very different from more traditional profiles. Even the original SA profile seems a bit wrong in comparison.
- kitsunesoba 4y agoMT3 really is a nice key profile. The only caveat is that because the keys are so tall, it may not work nicely on taller boards… I have at least one board like that. “Hugging” your fingertips is a good way to describe what using them feels like. It’s particularly prominent on the PBT dyesub sets (like /dev/tty), which have a slightly deeper scoop and more matte texture than the ABS doubleshot MT3 sets (such as Susuwatari). Probably my favorite MT3 set out of those I own is biip’s Extended 2048[0], which is a fun lightly modernized take on Apple’s keyboards from the late 80s through early 2000s, which used the Univers Condensed Oblique[1] typeface.
