You can be dependent on a person of your choosing. You don't need to be dependent on the default parents/family in the modern era.
The real problem today is making friends - which is incredibly hard in America - with it's vast distances.
- rini17 4y agoEven in Europe the biggest problem isn't distance but that you should be the other person's choosing, too. And I think people became too picky. Maybe it isn't the root cause, just my observation.
