Not my tweet, but curious if anyone here knows what happened. Seems so unlikely, but possible via geolocation? iPhone 12.

- eesmith 4y agoWhere around Höfn í Hornafirði? What does "NATO observatory" mean? Are there any other pictures people have taken at this tourist attraction? And with what device? If this was a deliberate geolocation thing in iPhone cameras, then why there and nowhere else?
- infofarmer 4y agoI think I found a few rare old pictures online https://twitter.com/pandrewhk/status/1533366856635281408 https://twitter.com/pandrewhk/status/1533366856635281408 But nothing recent. The innocent explanation would be — it's really desolate and the iPhone glitch was just a glitch. However she mentions it's a tourist attraction.
- eesmith 4y agoShe mentions it was in the distance of the tourist attraction. If infofarmer is correct and it's Hofn Air Station (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hofn_Air_Station https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hofn_Air_Station) then the tourist attraction might be Stokksnes, which Google Maps describe as "Commonly photographed headland with a dramatic mountainscape, black sands & a radar station."
