I was also wondering about this and it got me thinking - I'd the turbines would be spinning fairly slowly, and I'm picturing some sort of filtering device behind them that could filter plastics or other pollutants to the ocean. In an ideal setup maybe it can filter stuff out and use that to create more energy Maybe also not what we want, but it could be cool to see if some new ecosystems set up around these structures
