A few thoughts:
Making homelessness somehow illegal is not going to fix systemic problems which create a lot of homeless people. Besides, it is often public land, and a public in real trouble can be expected to use public land.
The biggest of those systemic problems is economic; namely, people making less from their labor than it costs for them to exist and show up for work. Fix that and there will be far fewer homeless people.
Poor class awareness and solidarity have left the American people poorly equipped to participate in the civics needed to have meaningful policy discussions. There is democracy, but it largely serves those doing OK and of means. Half the nation does not qualify.
Good luck!
- manuelabeledo 4y ago> Making homelessness somehow illegal is not going to fix systemic problems which create a lot of homeless people They tried to do this in Austin and the only accomplishment is the creation of itinerant homelessness. Anyway, this guy's idea is even wilder than that. Somehow, homelessness symptoms and causes must be purged first, before offering homeless people a chance.
