Ask HN: Where do you get clip arts for presentations?
I see some really nice presentations here and there with amazing clip arts, pictures, etc.
I wonder if there is a source to get such clip arts, public domain or paid, as a bundle. Or those presenters are drawing and making the presentations themselves.
Long ago, when I was young and more into presenting there were the bundles that one could buy and add to MS PowerPoint and use freely. I do not know if that is still the case or if it has changed since then.
If the presenters are mostly drawing their own clip arts, what hardware and software are the most commonly used?
- nialse 4y agoHaving just finished a couple of presentations recently Pixabay [1] has been the go to source for images and some clip art. Then Fiverr [2] for bespoke artwork and also for fixing one of the presentations to look better than I could achieve on my own within a limited time frame. Happy to hear what others do! - firstSpeaker 4y agoThank you for the reply. Pixabay looks good. Could you elaborate a bit about your use of fiverr and if you have any recommendations about particular person/s you have got help from.
- nialse 4y agoOn Fiverr you can buy a lot of digitally deliverable services of many types. It has become my goto for things I need to do but don't have the time or the skills. I've just searched the site for the skill I need, have a look at their portfolio to see that it's not to generic. Then I negotiate a price for what I want them to do and in what time frame and how many revisions. Sometimes when I don't have time to fail I've ordered the same project from two sources. A thing that helps the result immensely is to be able to describe in detail what it is you want. That entails design decisions, style but also formats for delivery etc. Good luck!
