It's sympathy for Russia should change Western view of the developing world
- simonblack 4y agoIn its current "West against the Rest" conflict, the West is relying on the 500-year 'anomaly of history' in which the West has been ascendant instead of the thousands of years where the super-powers of the World were India and China. There is no 'God-Given' right of the West to be in charge. The West is is a mere minor fraction of the World: the 'Golden Billion' as it considers itself. Whereas in truth, India alone or China alone has more intrinsic worth than the whole of the West combined. The World is reverting to the norm. The super-powers will again be India and China within the next 10-20 years: within the lifetimes of most of the readers on HN. The West will again become a quiet backwater, such as many people consider today's Portugal and Spain who were themselves the super-powers of the day 400 years ago.
