The entry-level workers earning six-figure salaries – BBC Worklife
- lifeisstillgood 4y agoI think the important question is not "really?" but "how much of an outlier are you before anyone bothers to write an article?"
- rektide 4y agoInflation. Remember inflation. I'm old enough (and from a non-wealthy enough place) to think 6 figures was basically superwealthy. Part of me still feels like I make more money than could be imaginable. Another part of me thinks- you are so so underpaid. Honestly I think it's smart to pay huge paychecks to out of college grads. Incentivize them. "Manage consulting"? Yeah, sounds like bullshit, especially from a group of people largely defined by having no life nor practical experience. But heck yes, pay the promising ones money, and find out. Many of the long experienced folk in any position are going to draw huge salaries simply for "experience" while only semi-covertly being more jaded, having endured more being broken in by a useless impotent system that can't manage them or put them to good use- get fresh people, throw them into shit, hope they don't know any better & don't see all the constraints & difficulty. Heck yeah. Very avante-garde.
- eternityforest 4y agoThis must be pretty amazing. In 1 year, they make more than I have in my life(at 28). But I suppose they earned it, since they must have done well in school for 8+ years to get into those colleges, and another 4 to graduate, in addition to paying insane amounts of money for it all.
