  Europeans say violent movies can negatively influence people, but don't worry so much about sexually explicit content. Americans say sexually explicit content can negatively influence people, but don't worry so much about violent content. Personally, I think both are partially right. We are what we eat. No human mind is inviolable, the information we consume effects who and what we are. Whether any particular influence is positive or negative is mostly a matter of subjective values.
