Why or how people deem "phantom braking" to be even remotely acceptable is completely beyond me. You are putting your life in the hands of a multi-ton steel box with a mind of (seemingly) its own and it "phantom braking" at highway speeds does not alarm you? In a normal world all of those cars would be immediately recalled.
- TremendousJudge 4y agoAs with everything, a tragedy must happen before something is done. I'm not condoning this behavior, but that's the way things are -- I'd be surprised if the opposite happened, and preventive action was taken. It took decades for mass adoption of simple security devices such as seat belts and third brake lights.
