Blockchain technology cannot, and will not, have transaction reversal mechanisms
It's true that it'd be antithetical to their 'spirit', but smart contracts can most definitely support transaction reversal (they can support anything a Turing machine can, to be precise). The statement also seems to be based on the false assumption that banking transactions are universally reversible, which they are not. The public German lender KfW learned this the hard way, after accidentally sending €320m to already defunct Lehman Brothers, resulting in a loss of the full amount. Interbank settlement systems are generally final, and reversal relies on the good faith of the receiving party to initiate a new transaction to the effect of undoing the original, faulty one. If you have experienced 'reversed' transactions before, then you have the legal system to thank, not technology.
I'm all for being level-headed about blockchain technology, and it has enough flaws that the authors don't even touch upon (PoW impact, poor scalability,...). But what's the point of statements that are both objectively false and misleading?
