Right, the local government would have to use subsidies to support college educated workers. The whole system would surely fall apart. It is probably in governments best interest to safeguard against this.
- barry-cotter 4y agoInteresting how the interests of poorer people like the non-college educated or those in poorer countries are ignored. Subsiding unprofitable industries doesn’t have a great track record in any case. The Argentine and Indian auto industries disappeared as soon as protective tariffs did, at great cost to the taxpayers who subsidized them for decades.
