Just before I found this story, I called Canon to find the nearest repair location. First time they asked me to register an account online and call back. After registration I called back and they say it will be $19.99 to speak to a human. So I figured the $100 printer was dead. I almost threw it into the trash. Lucky I did the quick google search. It works fine now that I disabled the printers ability to reach the internet.
