I've been using grpc-js for peer to peer work. It's been tough so much do that I'm considering dropping it in favour of just json RPC. I'd hope that when the typescript version is available that it actually uses promises, Async generators and supports both client side and server side. And most importantly we can use any underlying stream socket (like UDP).
