Why watch other people play video games?
- mc4ndr3 4y agoIt's cheaper than buying the game. No buyer's remorse. Saves time compared with playing the game yourself. More informative than a game trailer. Watch celebrities (both A list and B list) play your favorite games. Learn tips and terminology from other gamers. Feel vicarious success from someone breaking a world speedrun record. You can do other activities while they play the game for you. No hassle with installation or compatibility or awkward controls. No need to invest in dedicated gaming hardware. You can skip ahead to the good parts.
- sn0w_crash 4y agoI watch other people play StarCraft because I find that I get too frustrated and angry when I play. It’s also too time consuming.
- denimnerd42 4y agoi’ve been watching pro brood war for over 15 years. there was a time I was big into dota too. Just BW now though. it’s like watching any other sport. .. football.. racing.. whatever.
- t-3 4y agoI still don't get it. Streaming and influencer culture is just incomprehensible to me. Watching people play games isn't quite as puzzling to me as OnlyFans and similar sites, though. What's the attraction, when there's so much free porn on the internet?
