While my employer hasn't (and probably won't) come out and explicitly said that they will eventually be back in the office, they aren't hiding that this is what they eventually want. We have always been about flexibility and work/life balance, so it's not surprising that 30-40% of us have young kids at home. Last time they tried moving to a hybrid working plan, a ton of people said that they would have to quit because child-related stuff was still a mess. I bet in another year or two, they'll look to see if things have stabilized, and if so they'll start the move back to in-office work.
