James Webb Telescope's First Full-Color Photos to Be Released on July 12
- Anunayj 4y agoI'm confused what "full color" here means? As I understand James Web has a range of 0.6 μm – 28.5 μm across all it's instruments (specifically NIRcam has range 0.6 μm - 5 μm), that's less than half the visible spectrum! Would this work by mapping the infrared to visible spectrum (and then appropriately calculating how our eyes would perceive that) for a far red shifted galaxy, to get a view of what it would look like if were say "close" to it? has that been done before?
